Olympus E500 DSLR Review

Olympus E500 DSLR Review - Intro

If like me you are happy with buying last decades top of the line gear. Then you might consider the Olympus E500 DSLR (what does that stand for?). The E500 is an aged 8 mega pixel chunk, which runs on the four thirds system, a type of lense shared by panassonic and olympus.

Olympus E500 DSLR Review - Specs

By todays stnadards the camera is way off the mark, so it is not really worth compairing them. The E500 was manufacturerd up until around the end ofg 2006 a production run of around 18 months. It is classed as "mid range" in the product timeline shown on wikipedia. For some reason the E500 is a lot cheaper than the lower range E400, which I originally intended to buy, aprently it has a good view finder.

Olympus E500 DSLR Review - Picture Quality

I purchased the camera becuase I wanted to take some landscape pictures for work,  and it did the job well, with very good pictures.

Below s a picture I took with the black and white option, which looks OK, this was taken in a darkish room with no flash.

Olympus E500 DSLR Review - Where not  to buy

DO NOT Buy from "Camlandian" on ebay. Terrible service, took 4 weeks for refund on faulty E500.

DO Buy from "srsmicrosystems" very prompt services, also bought lens from these guys.
